About Artist, Derek Roberts
Transport art, Watercolors, Portraits, Landscapes.
Artist, Derek Roberts trained at Art College in the 1960's, but has produced most of his work in the more recent years. Favorite subjects include transport, especially from the 50's and 60's era. Nostalgic scenes capturing the last days of steam in the UK are also brought to life through his work. Needless to say cars, trucks and buses are also seen in many works.
Portraits are exiting and difficult for most artists, and I thoroughly enjoy doing them as a change from transport, and never knowing if success will come easily or if it will be very difficult to produce a satisfactory outcome.
